BASINGSTOKE AIR SCOUT GROUP

Base 2000 the headquarters of the Basingstoke Air Scout Group is a modern brick built building situated in Carpenters Down, Popley behind the Popley Fields Community Centre, For a Map click Here or for an aerial view click Here

The building is available for hire by individuals or Groups.

The building consists of two levels.

The Ground Level

Large Hall 35ft x 25ft (10.75m x 7.38m)> Small Hall 26ft x 18ft (7.8m x 5.4m)> Kitchen 8ft x 14ft (2.5m x 4.3m) The Kitchen has hot and cold running water with an electric hand dryer and is fully equiped with a cooker, fridge, microwave, kettles, crockery and cutlery. A seperate frezzer is avaiable on request.> Toilets One Male toilet and two urinals, two female toilets and a seperate disabled toilet. All toilets have hot and cold running water and Electric hand dryers.

Upper Level

The upper level is used for storage of equipment that belongs to the Air Scouts, Basingstoke East Scout District, Basingstoke Scouting Suplies and Popley Guides and is not available for general use.

The building is heated by thermostactically controlled electric heaters. The hall floors are carpeted with heavey duty carpet tiles with vinyl flooring in the kitchen and toilet areas. Base 2000 is fully protected by automatic fire and security alarms and is equiped with fire extinguishers and emergencey doors with crash bars. There is a Pay Phone in the Foyer and the building is fully accessible to the diabled with ramped access to and from the main door and emergencey exits and there is a designated disabled car parking space immediately in front of the building
